RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Botafogo have completed the signing of midfielder Gregore from Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami, both clubs said on Monday.
The 29-year-old will be tied to Botafogo until December 2026 after the two-time Brazilian Serie A champions agreed to pay a transfer fee reportedly worth 2.5 million euros.
"We would like to thank Gregore for all of his contributions on and off the pitch, and wish him the best in this next step in his career as he returns home to Brazil," Inter Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said in a statement on the club's official website.
"His leadership and hard work were key for us during his time at the club."
Gregore made 69 MLS appearances for Inter Miami after his 2021 arrival from Bahia.
He is expected to make his debut for Botafogo against Audax in Rio de Janeiro's Carioca championship on Saturday. ■
